Upscale, Chinese medicine-themed speakeasy bar featuring creative mixed drinks in a swanky interior. Specialty cocktails and small plates inspired by Asian ingredients, if you can find them. The aesthetics with everything is beautiful. Even the bathroom is selfie worthy lol I need a sink bowl exactly like their’s. Anyways, if you haven’t gone, you need to go! It’s an intimate setting so a small group of friends or a date would be great. Speakeasy hidden inside of Common Theory. The drinks: they’re fun. Each have a twist to them using Asian inspired flavors.
For drinks, solid ones include Earl Grey, Martina, Peach Black Tea, & the Lapsang Souchong. They were all really good, but I think my favorite is the Martina. Love the vibe of this place. They primarily take reservations and they fill up very fast. I had to book 2 weeks in advance. But it’s worth it for the experience. It’s on the smaller side so it did at times feel a bit cramped. Realm of the 52 Remedies is a homage to the multiculturalism within the Asian community on Convoy Street. Ironic that the north end of Convoy is bound by the 52 freeway, but the name comes from 52 remedies cured by the herbs that apothecaries use in Eastern medicine.
The drinks and food are so unique and well done. You can tell they put a lot of thought into the ingredients and story they’re telling with their dishes. You could order anything and it’d probably be great. I loved all the food I’ve tried, but I especially recommend the taro and sweet potato chips with the dip, the KFQ, and the brussel sprouts.
